Five Months Later

Five months later I am still trying to figure out what I just witnessed.  Our favorite football team traveled up to Connecticut and played one of the worst games of the year.  Too many turnovers by the offense and the defense was struggling mightily to contain a dual threat quaterback.  Next to playing SMU, I figured this was a game that should have been one of the easier match-ups of the year.  I was woefully wrong however and we lost a very winnable game to a team that was not much better than they were the previous year.  I still have to tip the cap to the winner, they did what they had to do to win and took one away from us.

Next up, the Owls

This was one of the games last year that I was a little concerned about.  The previous contest against the Temple Owls showed some of our defensive weaknesses as well as an offense that was not in sync for parts of the game.  I really expected more of the same from their quarterback that we saw in Philadelphia in 2013.  I was proven wrong when P.J. walker proved to be rather ineffective against our defense that was getting stronger with every passing game.  We punched them in the mouth early on and jumped out to a pretty comfortable lead by halftime.  I think we let up on the gas pedal just a little to early but the defense shut the Owl offense down completely in the second half. It was the type of win I really wanted to see from the team after the previous lackluster performance against Tulane.
